Tree work around Worcester, one request
Need a tree taken down, trimmed back, or cleaned up after a storm? Tell us the town and what's going on. We review every request and work to connect you with a local tree service that works in your town. It's free.
Is your town in the beetle quarantine?
- Moving tree material out of the area is restricted. That includes hardwood firewood, and branches, logs, stumps, roots and debris half an inch thick or more from the beetle's host trees.
- Tree companies and landscapers need a federal compliance agreement or permit before moving regulated material out of the area. Ask any company you hire whether they have one.
- Residents of the quarantine area have to follow the same limits on moving tree material and untreated firewood.
- Think you've seen the beetle or its damage? Report it online through the USDA or call the hotline at 1-866-702-9938.

- Worcester, Boylston, West Boylston: Inside the quarantine. As of the federal order of October 1, 2026, Worcester, Boylston and West Boylston are in the Asian longhorned beetle quarantine area. The exact boundary is on the APHIS map.
- Auburn: Partly inside. The northern part of Auburn is in the quarantine area. Check the official map to see which side of the line you're on.
- Shrewsbury and Holden: No longer in the quarantine. The federal government removed all of Shrewsbury from the quarantine area on October 1, 2026. The part of Holden that had been regulated has been removed from the area.
- Leicester, Paxton, Northborough, Westborough, another town: Not in the quarantine area. The current area covers Worcester, Boylston, West Boylston and northern Auburn.

Tree on a power line, or a tree on the house right now? Stay well clear. Call 911 or your electric utility first, then send this.
What people send us
- Removal. Dead, leaning or simply in the way.
- Trimming and pruning. Branches over the roof, the driveway or the neighbor's yard.
- Storm cleanup. Trees and limbs that came down.
- Stump grinding. After a removal, or a stump that's been there for years.
Two local rules worth knowing
- The beetle quarantine. Worcester is still inside a federal quarantine for the Asian longhorned beetle, which limits moving tree debris and hardwood firewood out of the area. Check your town.
- Trees by the road. A tree in or on the edge of the public way is usually a public shade tree, and the town's tree warden has a say before anyone cuts it. Street trees.
Who's behind this
WorcesterTreeQuotes.com is a request service. We don't cut trees, and we're not part of any government program. The service is free for homeowners and property managers. No tree company pays us today. In the future, companies may pay to receive requests, which is how the site would stay free.
